DESCRIPTION:Join the Show-Me Institute’s experts for an evening of lively conversation as we discuss and present facts about two timely issues. \nThe Kansas City Streetcar – The Kansas City Streetcar came in 55% over budget and three years late\, yet local media reported it as on time and under budget. The Show-Me Institute took a closer look at the facts\, and the discrepancies are striking. With the city considering further extensions\, the cost picture may only get worse. Senior Fellow Patrick Tuohey explains why taxpayers and local media need to start asking harder questions now. \nPublic School Personnel Boom and the Teacher Pipeline – Since 2000\, growth in teaching and administrative staff has greatly outpaced growth in student enrollment.
