2007 Annual Report Highlights Policy Victories, Research Accomplishments September 9, 2008
The Show-Me Institute released its 2007 annual report today, presenting a detailed look at its second full year of operations. The report presents a summary of the year's major accomplishments in each of the institute's six research areas: taxes, education, corporate welfare, health care, privatization, and red tape. It also provides a look at some of the institute's other accomplishments, including its youth outreach program, media coverage, and academic influence.
One of the most important portions of the annual report is its statement of finances. During 2007, the Show-Me Institute devoted 77.8 percent of its expenses to its program of research and education, keeping overhead outlays down to 22.2 percent. This is a significant improvement over 2006, when a disproportionately high level of startup expenses increased the overhead percentage. The institute's board and staff look forward to improving 2007's programming proportion, raising it still higher in years to come.
The annual report is available to be downloaded by anybody who takes an interest in Missouri public policy, and the Show-Me Institute's role in researching and promoting the best in policy solutions.
